JOB TITLE: Archives Aid-Docent
JOB PURPOSE: This position will staff the Docent's Desk at the entrance to the main exhibition area of the American Heritage Center and will be responsible for greeting visitors, directing traffic, and maintaining a safe environment for collection material on display.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will monitor visitor conduct while they're interacting with the exhibitions in the area and report any problems to the appropriate authority. Must be friendly and welcoming to provide guests with building directions and staff referrals, answer questions regarding the featured exhibitions in the space and provide informational literature upon request. Will keep the exhibit areas tidy and maintain a clean workspace. May be required to stand or sit for long periods of time. Will assist with marketing efforts, data entry, and other small projects assigned by the unit supervisor. Reports to the Manager of Collections and is part of the Collections Management Team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma/GED
Experience: No related work experience needed but must have 2 years of work history
Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: None
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a receptionist or front desk role
