JOB TITLE:

Digital Media Director - Wyoming Public Media

JOB PURPOSE:

Develop, implement, and manage WPM's digital operation that supports organizational goals and objectives based in audience growth and revenue building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage WPM's digital platforms in a way that optimizes audience and generates revenue streams for its multiple channels and multi-media productions.
  • Interact with News Department to produce cutting-edge news content and delivery that engages and grows audience over multiple platforms.
  • Manage content, application assets, and human talent in a way that supports WPM goals of reaching audiences in Wyoming and beyond.
  • Manage social media strategy and application in a way that engages current audiences and builds new relationships globally.
  • Troubleshoot processes, equipment, and needs of staff to affect a smooth-running operation.
  • Collaborate with audio content producers and WPM marketers to promote and monetize content including podcasts.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively delegate day-to-day duties to one part-time assistant and several interns and volunteers in a manner that covers all essential duties and provides substantive backup resources.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Strategic Multi-Platform Production and Distribution Coordinator to increase audience reach and revenue potential.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

Preference is for Laramie-based employee, though consideration will be given for someone who brings advanced and successful experience in digital development, effective way of communicating with colleagues and audience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3 years work-related experience in digital program creation and management with quantifiable evidence of success.
  • Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A knack for finding effective ways to reach new audiences via digital avenues.
  • Knowledge of the NPR Grove system.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast spot production highly desirable - this includes knowledge of editing tools.
  • Knowledge of public radio programming and digital trends.
  • Strong web graphic skills.

  • Strong evidenced experience in developing social media audiences and strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of digital tools and technologies
  • Working knowledge of concept, creation, aggregation, delivery, and placement of compelling web content for local and national consumption.
