Job Description

JOB TITLE:

Archives Aide, Page

JOB PURPOSE:

To retrieve, track, and return boxes, folders and artifacts from storage for patron and staff research. Includes data entry, some research and scanning and heavy lifting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retrieve and return collection material from storage. Able to reach, bend, and lift 40 pounds safely, on a regular basis. Occasionally stand or sit for longer than an hour. Equipment use includes ladder, electronic shelving, computer, scanners, heavy carts, telephone. Includes data entry, tracking and reconciling materials, using a variety of external and internal databases.

COMPETENCIES:

Attention to detail. Punctual. Good oral and written communication. Comfortable and confident working independently and with a team. Takes initiative and anticipates the needs of patrons. Displays quality customer service, whether in person or on the phone. At ease interacting with the public. Ability to navigate Microsoft products and the Windows operating system effectively.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma. Available to work Mondays through Fridays between 8am and 5pm.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to applicants who have had archives, library, and / or museum studies or experience.

Availability preferences given to applicants who can work Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday between 9am and 4pm
