JOB TITLE:

Post Award Costing and Reporting Specialist I

JOB PURPOSE:

Join our dynamic team in the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) as the Post Award Costing and Reporting Specialist I. In this role, you will be at the forefront of system implementation, updates, and maintenance projects, serving as the OSP Costing and Reporting team representative. As the software administrator for Effort Compensation Compliance (ECC), you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and accuracy for effort reporting. Additionally, you'll lead quarterly Subrecipient monitoring efforts and contribute to special projects, all while helping to develop and maintain Post-Award training materials. With a data-driven approach, you'll be responsible for generating financial reports and matrices across a wide range of tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the coordination of effort/payroll certification reporting process and the maintenance/upgrade of the Effort Compensation Compliance (ECC) system.
  • Lead the annual Sub-recipient monitoring process and assist in evaluating the financial risk of outgoing subawards and make recommendations to management as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and conduct training sessions pertaining to various systems utilized by OSP, including but not limited to WyoCloud-PPM, TeamDynamix, and ECC.
  • Complete financial month-end close and scheduled processes as assigned.
  • Assist with the periodic system upgrade for the Post Award platforms of eRA system (Cayuse) and financial system (WyoCloud-PPM)
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of the quarterly indirect cost recovery.
  • Maintain OSP website.
  • Review eRA and financial system attributes continually to ensure data integrity.
  • Review and support calculation of Service Center rates annually.
  • Assist with the preparation of sponsor specific surveys
  • Assist with the preparation and testing of externally funded award metrics/reporting.
  • Assist with the annual Federal Single Audit process and coordinate other sponsor specific external and internal audits as may be required.
  • Assist in the preparation of significant costing projects, such as the Facilities and Administration rate proposal (~3-4 years) and the institution's Disclosure Statement (DS-2), as required.
  • Propose solutions to management to enhance organizational goals. Drive business process improvements by offering recommendations for enhanced division-wide efficiencies.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of government, University and specialized regulations and policies, which impact service centers, effort reporting, sub-recipient monitoring, etc.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform special projects, as directed.
  • Attend conferences and workshops applicable to sponsored programs' administration.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: Ideally, this position requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus. However, a flexible or remote work agreement may be possible for a highly qualified candidate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in software testing or data analytics
  • Broad understanding of and experience using an Oracle-based or comparable financial management system
  • Prior work experience providing support at an Institution of Higher Education
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
