JOB TITLE:

Cook - Washakie Dining Center

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the cooking staff by prepping food items for recipes that are made and served for the student board meal plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform cooking tasks as assigned according to established standard under general supervision including cooking meat, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits and other foods according to recipes.
  • Learn and use appropriate kitchen measurements, recipe reading and operation of production kitchen equipment.
  • Set up and take down service line according to standard operating procedures.
  • Use sanitation and safety procedures properly and efficiently in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Daily cleaning of the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in training and other professional development activity.
  • Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.

This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's . Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: None

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None
