JOB TITLE:

Assistant Lecturer / Assistant Instructional Professor

JOB PURPOSE:

The School of Computing at the University of Wyoming seeks outstanding applicants for an Assistant Lecturer / Assistant Instructional Professor appointment, starting August 2024. This is a full-time, 9-month benefitted position with a typical teaching assignment of 3 courses per semester. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching commensurate with experience, and enthusiasm to teach undergraduate students effectively. This position is open to applications from candidates with teaching focus in Software Development or Computer Science.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaching undergraduate courses in Software Development or Computer Science;
• Professional development, including participation in state and national professional organizations;
• Service to the program, school, and university, including advising student groups;
• Participation in curriculum development and program assessment

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• M.S. in Computer Science, or closely related field;
• Teaching experience at the college level with demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching;

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated teaching excellence in online and hybrid modalities and use of innovative teaching methods
• Demonstrated interest in scholarship of teaching and learning, and research interest in undergraduate computer science or software development education;
• Professional experience in Software Development, or related field
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, or closely related field
