JOB TITLE:

Upward Bound Summer Program 2024 Foreign Language Instructor

JOB PURPOSE:

Design and deliver an age-appropriate, four-week foreign language curriculum taught to multiple grade levels that encompasses a range of participant ages and learning styles.

- Dates of summer program (including training) are May 29th-July 2nd 2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide cultural experiences to contextualize & facilitate participants' understanding and use of the language, including hosting at least one cultural event.

-Connect the language to the country or countries in which it is spoken and discuss the culture in the/those location/s.

-Provide an active, student-centered learning environment

- Must be available to teach Monday and Thursday 11am-12pm as well as an extended class on Fridays from 10am-1pm that would include a cultural lunch and activities planned and implemented by you and your students. Also attend at least 1 study hall session Mon-Wed from 3pm-5pm

- Attend all weekly academic meetings, as required.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Junior standing at the undergraduate level majoring in the language you will teach, or a completed minor; 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in the language you intend to teach
